Post.ICU(Step-Down Unit)

The Post-ICU ward is located on the first floor, adjacent to CCU2. It is part of the Internal Neurology Department and consists of single and double rooms, with a total of 13 beds.

Admission Procedure:

Patients can be admitted to the Post-ICU through the following methods:

  1. Direct admission
  2. Admission from the Emergency Department
  3. Transfer from other hospital departments

Patient Discharge Procedure:

  1. Discharge requires a written order from the treating physician.
  2. Once the physician confirms the discharge order, nursing staff provide the patient and their companion with necessary instructions regarding the discharge process.
  3. The section secretary prepares the patient’s file for settlement.
  4. The patient and their companion are directed to the discharge unit, guided by the section secretary.
  5. A discharge sheet is issued:
    One copy is given to the relevant hospital section.
    Another copy is handed over to the hospital security guard.

Post-Discharge Care Instructions:

– Home care, medication regimen, nutrition guidelines, and recovery recommendations are explained to the patient and their companion in clear and simple language.
– Educational pamphlets and brochures are provided if needed.

The patient’s prescription is:

– Registered by the treating physician.
– Collected from the hospital pharmacy by the patient or their companion.
– Reviewed by a nurse, who explains the medication instructions before handing it over.
