Introduction to the Department: The Women and Obstetrics Department of Hazrat Valiasr Hospital (AJ) is located on the first floor and is adjacent to the Gynecological Surgery Department and the Neonatal Department.

Services provided in the Women and Obstetrics Department include:

    • In this department, various surgeries are performed, including postpartum, cesarean section, hysterectomy, hysteroscopy, curettage, ovarian cystectomy, and other gynecological surgeries.
    • Monitoring rooms with facilities for monitoring the health of mothers and fetuses in high-risk pregnancies, patients with complaints of leakage, bleeding, decreased fetal movements, pregnancy-induced hypertension, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, the possibility of preterm labor, multiple pregnancies, threatened miscarriage, and recurrent miscarriages.

Patient Transfer:

If there is a need to transfer a patient from this department to another, after registering the transfer order by the attending physician in the physician’s order sheet or registering the order,

The physician, assisted by the shift supervisor and the responsible nurse, will stamp and sign it.

Then, the department coordinators will make the necessary arrangements for patient transfer. After contacting the admissions office and determining the room and bed number, the patient will be transferred to the desired department. The nurse in charge of the patient must clinically hand over the patient to the department nurse if the patient is admitted. This handover includes the health of all connections such as IV lines, patient alertness level, nutritional status, comfort level, pain relief, medication status, and other matters that need follow-up, including ultrasound, laboratory results, and counseling services. Receiving nurses are also obliged to report any violation and any problem in the patient’s condition immediately. A complete report must be recorded by the receiving nurse and the responsible nurse during the transfer in the patient’s file. Additionally, both parties must stamp and sign in the patient transfer record book.
